2 lied on form to purchase firearms
HUGHESVILLE – Two people, in separate cases, face a charge of making unsworn falsification to authorities for allegedly providing false information on a federal Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms form when they each attempted to purchase a firearm at Dixie’s Gun Shop on North Railroad Street, according to borough police.
Wilhelm Patrick Schon, 32, of 439 Pleasant Hills Road, Loyalsock Township, incorrectly answered “no” on the form when asked on Oct. 24 if he had ever been convicted of a felony or any other crime for which a judge could have imprisoned him for more than one year, police said.
Following his arraignment last week before District Judge Jon E. Kemp, he was released on $35,000 bail.
In the other case, Dana Lynn Mitsdarfer, 26, of 5208 Route 220, incorrectly answered “no” on the form on Oct. 20 when she was asked if she “was the subject to a court order restraining her from harassing, stalking or threatening a child or intimate partner,” police said.
There was a protection from abuse order filed against Mitsdarfer at the time, police said. Following her arraignment, she was released on $25,000 bail.
