MUNCY – Several months after moving into his uncle’s Moreland Township home on Old Lairdsville Road, 33-year-old Russell Reed allegedly stole a rifle from the man, state police said.

On the same day he stole the firearm from Keith Charles Eichenlaub’s home at 1368 Old Lairdsville Road on March 13, he sold the rifle to a local gunshop for $150, police alleged in court papers.

Eichenlaub recovered the weapon after he saw it on display at the gunshop several days later, police said.

Arraigned before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley on a charge of theft, Reed remains jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.
