New charges filed
MUNCY – New charges have been lodged against state Correctional Institution at Muncy inmate Syretta Stephens, who has now been accused of assaulting two other inmates, state police said in court records.
In the first case, Stephens repeatedly punched and kicked inmate Stacey Detweiler in the head on Aug. 2, police alleged.
Stephens also allegedly “pummeled” inmate Deneshya A. Poole for 45 seconds in the head and upper body on Sept. 16, police said.
Recently arraigned before District Judge Jon E. Kemp on two counts each of simple assault and disorderly conduct, Stephens, who has been moved to another state prison, was incarcerated in lieu of $100,000 bail.
