Benjamin P. Minier, 21, of 100 Wagner Ave., Montgomery, is accused of attempting to steal beer from a residence at 111 Kinsey St. in Clinton Township on Oct. 30, 2014, according to an affidavit filed by state police.

State Trooper Travis Pena said he recognized Minier in surveillance footage of the alleged incident. Pena alleged in the affidavit that Minier and another man fled the scene after Minier triggered a camera and a motion light that had been installed due to previous beer being stolen.

Minier was arraigned recently before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman on charges of burglary, criminal trespass and related charges.

He was committed to the Lycoming County prison in lieu of $25,000 ball and scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Jon Kemp on Aug. 28.
