Although Natasha Marie Stojkovich allegedly was under the influence of a controlled substance and her driver’s license was suspended, that did not stop the 26-year-old Muncy woman from driving to the state police barracks in Montoursville for an interview.
When she arrived at the facility on Cherry Street on July 16, Stojkovich made a point to tell a trooper that she did not drive due to her suspended license, according to an affidavit.
She was being interviewed about an “active investigation,” Trooper Tyler Morse said in the affidavit.
At the conclusion of the interview about 12:40 p.m., Stojkovich “almost fell down the front steps” as she exited the building, Morse said.
The trooper then saw her get behind the wheel of a Subaru Forester and pull away. Morse pulled her over on Cherry Street.
“Her pupils appeared constricted and she admitted to being on Methadone,” Morse said. The driver appeared “impaired” during a series of field sobriety tests, he added.
Stojkovich, of 100 W. Water St., was taken to the county’s DUI center, where she submitted a blood sample that confirmed there was a controlled substance in her blood.
At her recent arraignment, Stojkovich, formerly of the 1800 block of Rabbittown Road, admitted she was addicted to painkillers.
Charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, careless driving and driving with a suspended license, Stojkovich is free on $5,000 bail after she waived her preliminary hearing Monday before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman.
