HUGHESVILLE – More burglary-related charges have been lodged against admitted heroin addict and accused burglar Joseph Charles Little, according to borough and state police.

Borough police have charged the 28-year-old Little with allegedly breaking into Mark’s Outfitters, 22 S. Main St., Hughesville on Sept. 23.

They allege that he stole $250 and two pairs of boots.

Little, already jailed in the Lycoming County Prison for his alleged involvement in a string of five burglaries in Muncy, also has been charged with breaking into Dixie’s Gun Shop at 230 N. Railroad St., on Sept. 23, and taking $75 and a $425 handgun, borough Patrolman Ryan Travelpiece said in an affidavit.

Travelpiece has charged the inmate with two counts each of burglary, felony trespassing, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and possession of an instrument of crime.

The last charge stems from Little allegedly using a hammer to break into the two businesses.

Investigators believe he used the same hammer to burglarize the businesses in Muncy.

Little, of 180 Heatherbrooke Estates, Muncy, has been charged by state police with allegedly committing three burglaries: two at the Dollar General, 1849 Route 405, and one at the nearby Right-A-Way convenience store, both in Muncy Creek Township.

Investigators allege Little committed both the first Dollar General burglary and the Right-A-Away breakin overnight Aug. 30.

He is accused of stealing $17 worth of dog food from the Dollar General and an estimated $1,100 worth of lottery tickets from the convenience store, police said.

Police allege Little returned to the Dollar General to commit a second burglary overnight Sept. 14.

That’s when he allegedly stole $146 worth of beverages and cigarettes.

As a result of the cases, he has been charged with three counts each of burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.

Investigators from both police departments said that in prison interviews Little has admitted to police to committing the five burglaries.

Following his recent arraignment before District Judge Jon E. Kemp on these 24 additional criminal counts, Little was recommitted in lieu of an additional $100,000 bail.
