Motorist carrying pot, speed

Houston Robert Hall, 18, of 318 McConnell Parkway, Hughesville, faces drug charges after allegedly admitting to possession during a traffic stop on Northway Road Thursday night, according to court documents.

While patrolling, Ryan J. Brague, of city police, stopped a Volkswagen with a broken tail light and while talking to the driver said he saw a, “blue plastic soda cap with a metal socket melted into it.”

Brague identified this as a smoking device.

Hall, a passenger in the vehicle told Brague he had narcotics in his backpack, according to court documents. Inside the bag was 16 amphetamine pills (20 mg), about 35.7 grams of marijuana, nine clear plastic sandwich bags, a digital scale and $410 in cash.

Hall was arrested and was unable to post his $150,000 bail.

He awaits his preliminary hearing in front of District Judge Gary A. Whiteman Nov. 2 in Lycoming County Prison.
