HUGHESVILLE – Forensic evidence collected at the crime scene helped lead state police to a Penn Township woman, who was arrested last week on charges of allegedly committing a burglary at the Pine Tree Hunting Club in late August 2014, according to Trooper Erik J. Barlett.

The evidence was a match for 20-year-old Christa May Gardner, of 1328 Beaver Lake Road, which is less than a mile from the club, and located on nearby Ganderback Road, Barlett said.

Police allege Gardner forced her way into the the club’s cabin and stole $60 sometime between Aug. 24 and Aug. 28, Barlett said.

She was arraigned before District Judge James Carn in Williamsport on charges of burglary, felony trespassing and related offenses.

Gardner was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail after the arraignment.
