County removed from train-crash lawsuit

By Staff | Jan 27, 2016

Lycoming County has been removed from a lawsuit filed in U.S. Middle District Court by the wife of a man killed by a Northfolk Southern train in a collision on Aug. 15, 2014, in Clinton Township.

The township, train engineer and conductor remain part of the lawsuit filed by Angela Lynne Martin, who is the wife of Howard Martin, who died when his pickup truck was struck at a railroad crossing on Brick Church Road about 12:15 p.m. that day.

Attorneys in the case agree to remove the county as part of the wrongful death and negligence litigation.
