HUGHESVILLE – William W. Steckowich, 49, of 176 S. Second St., has been charged with simple assault and harassment for allegedly striking his son with a baseball bat at the family’s home about 8:15 a.m. Jan. 14, according to borough police.

Arraigned hours later, Steckowich remains behind bars at the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.

The son, whose age was not provided, was treated at Muncy Valley Hospital, police said.
