PICTURE ROCKS – Volunteer firefighters from five communities responded to a barn fire at 75 Cemetery Road shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday, February 14 according to Picture Rocks Fire Chief Larry Ryder Jr.

The 20-by-20-foot building was engulfed when firefighters arrived at the property, which was rented by Matthew Doyle from William Mayner, of Howard, Ryder said.

The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes, he added. Four sheep, four goats and some chickens perished in the fire, Ryder said. The owner had insurance on the building, he said.
