By Staff | Aug 3, 2016

Several accidents occurred in the county last Thursday, including a two-car crash in the construction zone of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 180, just west of Indian Park in Montoursville at about 3 p.m.

Three people were injured when a westbound car driven by Rodney Wertz, 39, of Hughesville, crossed the median and slammed into an eastbound Chevrolet Traverse driven by James Burke, 81, of Walnutport, Northampton County, who was stopped in a line of traffic.

Wertz and a passenger in his car, Anastasia Byler, 22, of Long Pond, were treated at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center, while Burke declined treatment for minor injuries, police said.

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at Route 405 and Armstrong Road in Clinton Township that occurred about 10:30 a.m., according to township Fire Chief Todd Winder. One person was taken to the Muncy Valley Hospital, while two others declined treatment.
