Man faces charges after January crash

ELIMSPORT – A Northumberland County man faces charges after he crashed his pickup truck on Route 44 while under the influence of heroin, according to state Trooper Adam Kirk.

Kevin Roy Guisewhite, 25, of Watsontown, has been charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license as a result of the crash on the morning of of Jan. 5.

Guisewhite was thrown from the truck as it rolled three times near Bob Drick Road in Washington Township, Kirk said.

Admitted to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville with injuries, Guisewhite admitted to using heroin about 6:15 a.m., hours before the crash was discovered, police said.

He has been sent a summons to appear before a district judge.
