One person was killed and another seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Saturday night in Jordan Township, Lycoming County, according to state police.

State police identified Rhonda Lois Killian, of Berwick, as the deceased.

She was a passenger on the motorcycle driven by Robert G. Killian, of Berwick, that veered off Route 118 near Whitenight Road at about 6:40 p.m., state police said.

State police said Killian was traveling north when he failed to negotiate a left curve before the motorcycle struck a guard rail and an embankment and flipped several times.

Both were thrown from the motorcycle.

Rhonda Killian initially was transported to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, but was rerouted to Muncy Valley Hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival, state police said.

Robert Killian was flown to Geisinger Medical Center for head and leg injuries, state police said.

Motorists in Lycoming County were advised a lane was closed on Route 118 at the intersection of Whitenight Road in Jordan Township due to the vehicle crash.

PennDOT was on the scene flagging motorists through the area. All lanes reopened by midnight or 1 a.m. according to highway officials.
