MONTGOMERY – A 17-year-old Broad Street resident is being charged as an adult in the assault of a female juvenile who was struck in the head and face, and threatened with a knife, state police said.

“If I want to, I’ll kill you right now,” Chase Hunter Lynch told the girl after he picked her up in his car at a friend’s home in Clinton Township on the morning of Nov. 8. police said.

While driving and assaulting the girl at the same time, Lynch drove into a cornfield, near State Home Road, police said.

The girl attempted to get out of the vehicle near Brouse Road, but Lynch pulled her back into the car and started biting her on the face, police said. No information was provided on how the attack ended.

Lynch was taken into custody at his home at 81 Broad St. later that morning and arrested on charges of aggravated and simple assault, unlawful restraint, terroristic threats, criminal mischief, harassment and four motor vehicle code violations.

Following his arraignment before District Judge William Solomon, Lynch was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $125,000 bail.

In another assault case, Hughesville resident Brett J. Savage, 25, faces charges of simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and harassment following an incident early Friday morning.

Hughesville police allege Savage, of 258 Broadway St., struck Kasey Foster with a backpack that contained a glass bottle in the 200 block of South Main Street about 12:30 a.m.

The glass bottle “caused a large laceration on Foster’s head,” police said in an affidavit. Police said Savage also threw a cellphone at Foster, striking her in the face.

Following his arraignment hours later before Solomon, Savage was jailed in lieu of $75,000 bail.
