MUNCY – They met on Snapchat, an internet messaging system, and began “dating” on Sept. 11.

The relationship between 18-year-old Tristan Ryan Jelassi and the 12-year-old girl began initially “with holding hands, kissing and hanging out with one another,” according to borough Patrolman David Williams.

However, within the next two to three weeks, the relationship “became more physical” with Jelassi visiting the girl at her home in the borough and first having inappropriate contact with her and then raping her in her bedroom, Williams alleged in court papers.

Williams also alleges that Jelassi had on his cellphone an inappropriate photo of the girl that had been sent to him by “a third person.”

The alleged sexual assaults occurred between Sept. 25 and Oct. 13, Williams said.

Jelassi, of 1980 Route 405, lot 14, was arraigned before District Judge Jon E. Kemp on a total of 15 charges, including rape of a child, six counts of aggravated indecent assault, three counts of indecent assault and related offenses. He was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
