ALLENWOOD – State police are continuing their investigation into a hit-run accident in Washington Township involving motorist James O. Beaver, 68, of Allenwood.

Police said Beaver lost control of his 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck on Mill Road about 3:15 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle struck several trees, police said.

Beaver attempted to flee in the vehicle and “was able to drive it back onto the road, but due to the damage” it sustained, the truck could go no further, police said. Beaver then fled the scene.

No charges have yet been filed. Police did not know if Beaver was injured in the crash.
