Bear still at large after attack on Muncy woman
Melinda Lebarron, of Muncy Creek Township, has been upgraded from critical to fair condition, according to a press release from Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Melinda Lebarron has been at the center since surviving a bear attack behind her home on Dec 12 and sustaining injuries to her ribs, collar bone and head. Her treatment at Geisinger included “multiple surgeries due to her internal and external injuries,” according to the press release.
Sidney Lebarron, Melinda Lebarron’s husband, expresses his relief concerning her progress.
“Melinda is a fighter and has a long road ahead, but we’re looking forward to her recovery. We are happy she continues to improve and look forward to when she can come back home,” he said.
The whereabouts of the bear still are unknown.
