LAIRDSVILLE A 69-year-old Sullivan County man was charged this week with more than 100 felony offenses for allegedly molesting two girls under 12 during a nearly four-year period, according to state police.

John Irwin Sr., of 88 Benders Road, Muncy Valley, surrendered at the office of District Judge Jon E. Kemp to face multiple counts of a variety of offenses including; 20 counts each of rape of a child and statutory sexual assault, 21 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and 32 counts of indecent assault.

Switzer also alleged that Irwin showed pornographic videos to both girls and took an inappropriate photo of one of the girls with his cellphone.

The charges against Irwin is the culmination of an investigation that began clear back in late 2017. The Geisinger Child Advocacy Center in Sunbury assisted with the investigation.

Irwin also faces one count each of attempted rape of child and photographing or filming sexual acts involving a minor, two counts each of aggravated indecent assault and disseminating obscene sexual materials to a minor and four counts of corrupting the morals of a minor.

Following his arraignment, Irwin was released on $100,000 bail.
