Child Porn Case Involves Local Man

By Staff | Dec 23, 2008

A Muncy Creek Township man faces 40 charges after police found child pornography at his home. Joshua Eugene Finck, 25, of 2168 Route 442, Apt. 2, Muncy, was arraigned last Thursday by District Judge C. Roger McRae.

Finck faces up to 280 years in jail and up to $600,000 in fines should he be found guilty on all counts and sentenced to consecutive terms. Each charge carries with it up to seven years imprisonment and up to $15,000 in fines, according to McRae.

A warrant was served on Finck’s home Thursday. State police, who filed the charges, said that resulted in the seizure of numerous pieces of computer equipment.

The investigation began Nov. 9 when police reportedly were conducting undercover investigations into the Internet sharing of child pornography. A computer showing suspicious files was located.

Police said they obtained a court order to research a known cable company’s subscriber records. The investigation allegedly determined the suspicious Internet access account belonged to Finck.

During a Thursday preview of a laptop computer, police said at least 10 movie files containing images of children engaged in sex acts were found.

Finck was charged with 10 counts each of dissemination of unlawful media and possession of child pornography. He also was charged with 20 counts of criminal use of communication facility.

Finck is in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $185,000 bail.

A Jan. 15 hearing before McRae is scheduled.

The investigation will continue, McRae said. Additional charges against Finck could be filed.

“There’s a whole lot to piece together,” McRae said. “This is an ongoing investigation and there’s a strong likelihood of additional charges being filed.”
