Finck Waives Hearing

By Staff | Jan 17, 2009

Joshua Eugene Finck, 25, of 2168 Route 442, Muncy Creek Township, waived preliminary hearings this week on felony charges of sexual abuse of children and related offenses.

The charges were filed after investigators seized the computer as well as other related equipment at his home.

Finck’s arrest came about as a result of computer software that allows investigators to “infiltrate” peer-to-peer sharing computer networks that reveal who is downloading and viewing child pornography.

State police have charged Finck with two counts of sexual abuse of children and one count of criminal use of a communication facility after troopers seized his home computer and other equipment at his apartment on Dec. 18.

“During a preview of Finck’s laptop, at least 10 movie files containing images of children engaged in sexual acts were located,” the arresting trooper said in an affidavit.

“Finck has admitted to downloading, processing and offering to share numerous files of child pornography,” the trooper said.

Finck waived his hearing Thursday and remains jailed in lieu of $185,000 bail.
