Child Rapist Sentenced

By Staff | Jan 29, 2009

A Wolf Township man has been sentenced by Lycoming County Judge Kenneth D. Brown to 15 to 30 years in state prison for raping a child.

William John Reynolds, 53, of 68 Orchard Ave. was convicted last May following a jury trial of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault involving an 11-year-old girl, according to District Attorney Eric R. Linhardt.

Reynolds sexually assaulted the girl twice in the fall of 2006 while he was at the girl’s home. State police became involved when the girl reported the incident to her mother.

“It is my hope that Mr. Reynolds is never paroled,” Linhardt said. He faces a lifetime of registration with state police if he ever is paroled.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Melissa Kaulus and the state police.
