Clean Up Days in Picture Rocks Scheduled
PICTURE ROCKS – Borough Council has arranged to set up dump bins at Van Rennsalaer Park May 1 and 2 and is inviting American Rescue Workers to the site to take used and suitable clothing.
The cleanup is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 7 to 11 a.m. the next day.
Council said it is working on getting a firm to take electronic equipment and scrap metal.
In other action, council:
Approved coordinating with George A. Ferrell Elementary School as its celebrates its Blue Ribbon Award status with a parade through the borough April 24.
Discussed getting salt orders for next winter. Salt prices jumped considerably this winter, according to secretary Bill Dorman.
Reviewed the plan to put out order forms at borough hall and businesses so people can buy a $50 brick to be inserted in the Picture Rocks Veterans Memorial Park under development along Nunn Lane and Route 220.
Asked Dorman to see about getting a street cleaner machine to sweep streets in a few weeks.
Plans to advertise the consolidation of ordinances regarding weight limits on borough streets to protect the borough from liability associated with heavy trucks. The ordinances will be consolidated into one law.
Council will meet at 7 p.m. April 6.
