Route 118 interssection project started
HUGHESVILLE-Construction began Tuesday on Routes 118 and 405 to make improvements. The reconstruction project begins at the intersection with Main Street and ends at the intersection with Spruce Street, a distance of about 250 feet.
The work that is being done includes paving, placing concrete pipe and pavement base drain to improve drainage, new curb and sidewalks and placement of pavement markings and signs. There will also be upgrades to the traffic signal at the Main Street intersection.
Traffic on Rt. 118 will use single lane flagging operations for a short term. Spruce Street will be closed for the duration of the the construction of teh drainage improvemnts in the vicinity oft he intersection with Route 118.
All the work being done under this current contract is scheduled for completion by the end of October and will cost $331,411.
