Hughesville High School Hall of Fame

The East Lycoming School District Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony was held during halftime of the Hughesville-Lewisburg football game. The following were selected as this year’s 2009 inductees:

Michael Confer

Class of 1965

Varsity Football 4 years

Starting Quarterback for 4 years, only one in HHS history

Varsity Basketball 4 years

Football Scholarship to Lehigh University

Graduated from Lehigh University with a civil engineering degree

Worked for Whiting Turner Construction, including supervision of the second span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge

Catherine Hatch Poust

Class of 1984

Eleven Varsity Letters at HHS-Softball, Basketball and Track and Field

West Branch All-Star Basketball Team 1984

First Place at West Branch Championship, Coaches’ Invitational, and Keystone State Games

Fourth Place PIAA State Championships 1983

Shippensburg University-lettered four years, MVP 1987 and 1988

Current Javelin record-holder at 157’2“, set in 1987

Champion at Colonial Relays and Susquehanna Invitational and Named to All-East Team

Place Winner in three NCAA National Championships, including 3rd place in 1988

NCAA All-American 1987 and 1988

Assistant Track and Field Coach at Hughesville High School 1990-1992, 2008 to present
