MONTGOMERY – Jade Heasley grew up in Montgomery during the 80’s and had such fun during that time, she wanted to share her years with others in a humorous memoir, titled “1980’s Kid.” It was recently ranked as the second best book written about the 1980’s by the website, FindaBookforMe.com,” said Heasley.

She was at Borders signing her book on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. where she also introduced her second book, “Bratty Becky and The Firecracker Kid.”

“My first book was non-fiction and published in 2008, but I wanted this new book to be fiction,” she said. It is about the 1900’s when nine year old Becky O’Toole does not want to go to school because her teacher is mean. But she is forced to go because now there is a new law and Becky and her brother, Freddy find themselves at the mercy of Miss Krahkor and they scheme for ways to get thrown out of school.

Heasley graduated from Montgomery High School in 1998 and loves to write in her spare time. She said she decided to write professionally when she turned 22.

Her books are available at Borders and Amazon.com.
