HUGHESVILLE – This is the second annual Hughesville Borough Police Department bike giveaway. This year there were 3 bikes given away along with helmets and accessories. The bikes and accessories were purchased with money provided by the officers of the Department and purchased at a discounted price from Pearson’s Bike Shop on S. Fifth St. in Hughesville.

A stand was set up at the Hugehsville Fireman’s Carnival where free tickets were provided for anyone under the age of 16 to put their name in a box. Winning names were drawn on the last night of the carnival, Saturday, at 8 p.m. on the stage. “This year we had approximately 450 registrants,” said Chief Jason Gill.

“I would like to thank Pearson’s bike shop in Hughesville for their assistance in this yearly event,” he added. “Pearson’s provides the best service after a sale than any business you will find, and treats everyone that comes through their door like family.” Chief Gill also thanked the Hughesville Fire Department for providing the space to set up the stand for the bike giveaway presentation.
