By Staff | Jul 17, 2012

Matt Hill, son of Barry and Dolly HIll of Muncy, received the "Hard Luck" trophy award at the Demolition Derby held at the Lycoming County Fair Saturday night after his demo car was slammed by No. 32 and was lodged onto the track wall.

The 142 annual Lycoming County Fair opened its doors on Friday, July 13 at noon. Friday night featured a Figure 8 Racing event, a mini-van demo, and free entertainment from Michael Blaine on the Pepsi Stage. Saturday night the well-known demolition derby was well attended, and there was also a free concert by the Crossroads Community Church Band. A free antique tractor pull was also held on Saturday.

All judging for the contests was done on Thursday evening. Over the weekend during the events, many of the grandstand seats in the bleachers were full with Lycoming County residents. The fair will officially end on Saturday, June 21. The fair has been in existence since 1870.
