Hospital to expand emergency department

Sherry Watts, Vice President of Development for Susquehanna Health Foundation and Ron Reynolds, President of Muncy Valley Hospital, accept the first pledged contribution towards the Emergency Department expansion project from Joanie Wallis and William Ritter, Muncy Valley Hospital Auxiliary President and Treasurer.
MUNCY – The Muncy Valley Hospital Auxiliary presented their first payment of $10,000 towards their $150,000 pledge to the Susquehanna Health Foundation’s Capital Campaign. This pledge supports the future Muncy Valley Hospital Emergency Department renovation and expansion project.
The Emergency Department at Muncy Valley Hospital plays a critical role in meeting the medical needs of our local families. But, within the past five years, patient visits have increased significantly and the facilities need to be expanded to better serve the patients. Plans for the project include replacing the emergency department’s five curtained bays with 14 private treatment rooms for enhanced patient privacy and improved infection control. Another new feature is the planned addition of specialty areas for trauma/resuscitation, decontamination and behavioral health evaluations.
The Emergency Department expansion project is part of the Foundation’s Continuing the Innovation Capital Campaign. This campaign is a multi-year effort to help improve the quality of care offered to all the communities that Susquehanna Health serves by offering the best technology, most advanced facilities and top healthcare providers.
