New banners wave high across the borough

By Staff | Mar 15, 2013

Two banners were sponsored by the MPBA. One is located by the Ritz Theatre and the other is near the fire station. This was the final design chosen from 4 created by Brickhouse Advertising in Muncy. The new banners were mounted on Feb. 22 in the Borough.

MUNCY – Since February 22 Muncy residents have taken notice of the new banners that have been placed throughout the community. Four designs were originated by Christopher Johnson, Creative Director from Brickhouse Advertising. Johnson is also a member of the Muncy Professional Business Association. After presenting the designs to the MPBA last year who readily agreed to replace the old banners, a vote was taken to see which one would be the best of the four.

The banner design was finally selected last fall from the four designs which used blue and white. “It was decided by the MPBA before designing to use the navy blue and white colors to stay consistent with the school colors,” said Johnson.

Brickhouse Advertising submitted the four designs and voting was done through the organization’s Facebook Page. The featured photo was from a 1930’s postcard of downtown Muncy that came from the Muncy Historical Society. “It was a tough decision as they were all good,” said Keri Krause.

The MPBA also advertised the banners at each of their meetings, on the organization’s website, and put advertisements in the East Lycoming Shopper, Luminary and the Williasmport Sun Gazette’s Spring Progress Edition. “The new banners are a very pleasant change from the banners I have ever seen before,” said Tom Taber.

The banners were manufactured by Rileighs Outdoor Decor in Allentown, PA. The Association worked with the Muncy Borough to have them arranged and installed on the existing 50 poles. They will remain in place until November when they are replaced with the holiday decorations.

Thirty six businesses sponsored them. They are: Padgett Business Services, The Muncy Bank & Trust Company, Home Furnishings Antiques and Gifts, Michael Insurance Agency Inc., Permanent Ink Studio, Brelsford Motors & Equip. Co. Est. 1921, Muncy Rotary Club, Layne R. Oden, Attorney at Law, Myers-Pepper Insurance Agency, Dittmar Oil Co., Edward Jones, They Keep on Growing, Mike Klein, Agent State Farm Ins., Richard C. Lowe CPA, Vision & Learning Center, Muncy Laundromat and Car Wash, Port Penn Peddler Shoppe and Arts, St. James Episcopal Church, St. Andrew Lutheran Church, PSP Embroidery Plus, Bennardi-Barberio Denistry, Providence Engineering, Woodlands Bank, Blessing Insurance, Inc., Grenoble Funeral Home, Muncy Professional & Business Association, Lazy Meadows Alpacas, Muncy Valley Hospital, Brickhouse Advertising, Hughesville Raceway Mobile Storage, and Orlando’s Restaurant.
