MUNCY – Will Guinter thought of himself as an auto technician rather than an artist specializing in screenprinting. Since opening his shop located in the old Grange News building at 21 N. Main Street, Muncy, in August of 2016, Guinter has been able to offer a wide variety of products.

What started as a hobby doing vinyl auto art, has now grown to include commercial signs, banners, glass etching, printed photo slates, customized apparel, screenprinting and embroidery.

Working part time from his home in Hughesville, Guinter said he quickly overgrew the space. “I made three thousand dollars the first week just on e-bay selling vinyl stickers.” So he re-invested in equipment, left his full time job at Blaise Alexander Chevrolet, looked for a good location and hasn’t looked back since.

Guinter said he enjoys marketing the new trends in screen printing for the t-shirts. He does some work for the schools, recently designing apparel for the Hughesville High School cheerleaders, the Muncy soccer team, and the Montgomery baseball team. He has also picked up other jobs in nearby areas of Milton, Benton, Watsontown and Turbotville.

Guinter does everything himself, from design to finished product. “It was a scary thought, leaving a good income and a weekly paycheck. But I have no regrets,” he said. “It was the best decision I made.”

Choosing Muncy for his business location also was a good decision, he declared. “I wanted to stay local and thought of Muncy.” He is renting the historic building and did some remodeling and updates to fit his inventory. “The location is good here. I would like to expand.”

Self-employment is a continuation of expanding, learning, and improving according to Guinter who is taking a webinar course on designing software for his business. So far most of his business has been coming from word of mouth and social media. He also offers sales and giveaways on current products.

Guinter and his wife have resided in Hughesville for nine and a half years. They have three children, ages, 14, 8, and 3. G-3 Graphics is open Monday through Friday and Saturday mornings. Will recently joined the Muncy Professional Business Association and he can be reached at 570-337-1119.
