Williamsport Symphony Orchestra presents Pops at Pepper Street

PHOTO SUBMITTED On Saturday, August 4 under the direction of Maestro Gerardo Edelstein, the WSO will feature pop and light classical selections on Pepper Street in Muncy .
MUNCY – The Williamsport Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with the Muncy Historical Society will be presenting a free, outdoor family concert “Pops at Pepper Street” on August 4, 2018, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at 232 Pepper Street, Muncy. This free concert is made possible in part through a grant from the Waldron Memorial Fund at the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania.
Under the direction of Maestro Gerardo Edelstein, the program will feature pop and light classical selections. Joining the orchestra will be vocalist Bernadette Boerckel who will perform The Rose and medley from the Sound of Music by Rogers & Hammerstein. With the orchestra nestled on the lawn between the barn and the corn field, bring family and friends, blanket and chairs to enjoy a variety of orchestral favorites including the 1812 Overture!
Other features selections include music from the “Lion King”, “Star Wars” and “Hoe Down from Rodeo!” As always, the concert will honor those who have served our country with the closing tribute “Stars and Stripes Forever”.
The Muncy Historical Society will provide free popcorn and light sticks. The Williamsport Symphony Orchestra will have their new season brochure available. The Muncy Professional and Business Association will have a “Star Wars” area set up with photo opportunities for “Star Wars” fans. Come early and dine at one of Muncy’s nearby restaurants or onsite at one of the hot dog stands.
Parking is available at Muncy High School and also on Painter, Buffington and Lincoln Streets. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held indoors in the Muncy High School auditorium.
