BARB BARRETT/The Luminary Bob Reeder owner of Bonner Sports & RV opened his second location one month ago in Pennsdale along Rt. 220. He is standing in front of one of the most popular selling RVs, the Wildwood.

MUNCY – Have trailer, we’ll travel! What a motto for this time of year. Bob Reeder owner of Bonner Sports & RV has only been opened for one month in his second location in Muncy Township, and already he said it has made a big difference in sales.

The RV industry is a growing one and more millennials are buying them, according to Reeder who started in the business in 2006 when he bought Bonner Sports in Avis. Two years later he purchased Kimble RV in Pine Creek and combined RV sales with bikes and power sports.

“We significantly grew after 2008,” Reeder said. “We were doing a good job taking care of our customers.” His staff grew from just three employees to 20 today. There are 3 managers who are taking turns at the Muncy location.

The RV industry is a growing industry because it offers a good lifestyle that people enjoy, and it is very affordable according to Reeder. “The demographics are very strong.” It’s not just retirees or seniors anymore.

After he was faced with a facility at full capacity in Jersey Shore, Reeder said the location in Muncy became available the end of last year and he decided it was time to open a second location.

“I wanted to get further away from that end of the county, but still stay in the same market area,” Reeder told the Luminary.

The Muncy location which was the former home of Waterscapes has opened up a different set of clientele. Sales manager, Jeff Harbaugh said that it is more convenient here and the grounds are perfect to display the new trailers.

“This location came to the top of our list quickly,” said Reeder. “It met our needs.”

After a little remodeling work done inside, the sales room is now open six days a week, Monday through Friday from noon to 7, and on Saturdays from 9 to 3. They service and sell six different manufacturers of trailers and over 20 brands. Wildwood is one of the most popular. “The layout and feel of it has sold well,” Reeder said.

Accessories, RV parts, golf carts, and kayaks are also for sale at Bonner Sports & RV. If a customer is looking for something in particular, it can easily be brought here from the other location the very next day.

Although the RV industry does change a lot, Reeder said he is very pleased with the amount of traffic here and “Muncy has definitely exceeded my expectations.”
