National Future Farmers of America visit Andritz in Muncy
MUNCY – It is the mission of the National Future Farmers of America Organization (FFA) to grow leaders, build communities and strengthen agriculture by providing educational opportunities to students throughout the country.
Students participating in the FFA are extended opportunities that aid in building the skills necessary for successful careers in roles of future leadership. Elected State FFA Officers engage in an exclusive, one-year program in the FFA State Officer Academy. The Academy offers a blended learning experience including traditional education, online training, and on-site experiences.
As a part of their on-site experience, the Pennsylvania State FFA Officers visited the Muncy facility to learn about the manufacturing process, and the role ANDRITZ plays in the future of agriculture.
Territory Sales Manager and FFA Alumni, Lloyd Bier organized the tour, and Robert (Bob) Bachman guided the group through the facility, providing an overview of plant operations and the ANDRITZ equipment.
This tour and activities like this one, do not only help prepare students for future roles within the industry, but also provide ANDRITZ with an invaluable opportunity to be “top-of-mind” when these future leaders make vital career and business decisions according to the State Officers program.
In the fall of 2019, each of the officers on the tour will begin attending a university that has a significant influence on agricultural commerce within the state of Pennsylvania and surrounding states.
