MUNCY-If it seems like Century 21 Colonial Real Estate is a name synonymous with longevity, that’s because it is-four decades’ worth. For more than 40 years, the real estate sales affiliates of CENTURY 21 Colonial Real Estate have provided homebuyers and sellers in the Muncy community with services that have helped them make informed real estate decisions.

The company hosted an open house observing the anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 18.

Although Luminary archives indicate it was established on September 1, 1979, by original broker Ron Arthur, the 25 North Main Street location in Muncy didn’t open its’ realty doors until April 1 of the following year.

At the time, Arthur had eyed a mid-January opening but a complete interor remodeling took longer than anticipated. Arthur, who was formerly associated with Jones Realty, also in Muncy, revealed to Luminary Editor Robert Wilt that six associated would be hired: Alex Reis, Fred O’Dell, Mrs. Jan Fisher, Mrs. Janis Bargerstock, Mrs. Elsie Emick and Mrs. Sue Burk.

Several long term agents have worked for Century 21 Colonial for 30 of the 40 years the company has been in business. Other agents have over a decade or two of experience with the company as well.

After selling real estate for a few years with Colonial, Jeanne O’Rourke became the broker/owner in 1995. The business relocated to East Water Street near the Muncy Hospital for several years before moving to 1892 John Brady Drive in 2009.

“It’s been an exciting 40 years and we can’t wait to see what the next 40 will bring,” Jeanne said. “As we continue on our journey, we remain committed to providing the highest level of customer service and dedication to excellence our clients have come to expect.”

Today, Jeanne is still the owner but now her son, Devin, is broker. Devin grew up in real estate; after earning his college degree he came to work as the office manager while working towards getting his real estate license.

“Century 21 Colonial Real Estate has never stopped striving to enhance our quality of service and dedication to all consumers we have worked with over the years,” said O’Rourke.
