The first Saturday of every month for the last two years, First United Methodist Church in Muncy has been the hot spot for evening entertainment.
Sponsored by the church’s Radical Hospitality Committee, Bonnie and Gary Glidewell provide a dance lesson to the general public for a small fee, which then is designated for a specific ministry.
Promptly at 6:40 p.m., the Glidewells demonstrate dance moves until 7 p.m.; after that, the lights in the celebration center are dimmed and music swells from a boom box, echoing across the gymnasium floor.
Many of those tripping the lights fantastic travel from other destinations, including State College, Wellsboro, Orangeville and Bloomsburg, Glidewell said. The next dance is this Saturday, Oct. 5.
