Dentist Inducted

MUNCY-A local dentist was recently inducted into the International College of Dentists.

Dr. Mary C. Bennardi was presented with a membership plaque, a gold lapel pin and a gold key symbolic of the Fellowship, for conspicuous service rendered in the art and science of Dentistry.

A Muncy graduate in 1984, Bennardi studied dentistry at The University of PIttsburgh School of Dental Medicine, earning her degree of dentistry in 1991.

Upon graduating, she returned to Muncy with her husband, Tom Barberio, becoming partners with her father, the late Rudolph Bennardi, also a dentist who started his practice in 1954 at 42 South Main Street.

The ICD is the pre-eminent honorary organization of the world’s outstanding dentists involved in serving others and is dedicated to the recognition of outstanding professional achievement, meritorious service and the continued progress in dentistry for the benefit of all humankind.

Exemplifying the core values of integrity, leadership and service, Dr. Bennardi was one of just 350 dentists from the United States and abroad who were inducted into the college this year, during the organization’s 85th annual convocation in San Francisco, held Sept. 6.

Mary serves Muncy and its surrounding communities, as well as volunteering at the Sullivan County Dental Clinic and as a school board director for the Muncy School District
