PENNSDALE With his left leg pinned underneath a Jeep Cherokee, a Muncy Township man was fortunate enough to have his cellphone with him on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 27, so that he could call 9-1-1 for help, according to township fire officials.

It was believed the man, whose identity was not released, was in the process of changing a tire on his Jeep at his home in the 1200 block of Village Drive when the jack supporting the vehicle suddenly gave way about 12:15 p.m., fire officials said.

Once on the scene, firefighters used a special hydraulic jack to lift the vehicle and free the man’s leg, officials said, adding the victim was taken by ambulance to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.
