A.C. Moore closing in Muncy Township

By Staff | Dec 4, 2019

Craft store chain A.C. Moore is planning to close all of its 145 stores, its parent company Nicole Crafts announced Monday.

The chain’s website indicated it would no longer accept online orders, though any orders previously placed would be filled.

Up to 40 of the chain’s stores will be handed off to competitor Michael’s, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. Michael’s, which operates about 1,200 stores, will also purchase an East Coast distribution center from A.C. Moore. The companies have not announced which stores will transition from A.C. Moore to Michael’s. Dates for when stores will close also remain unknown.

A.C. Moore and Michael’s both have stores in Lycoming County in close proximity to each other, with A.C. Moore on Lycoming Mall Circle and Michael’s in the Lycoming Crossings shopping complex.

A.C. Moore also has stores in Mechanicsburg, Harrisburg and Dickson City.
