Hollister, Hot Topic close at Lycoming Mall
Hollister in the Lycoming Mall closed its doors last Saturday, joining a growing list of stores store managers confirmed. Corporate had not given a reason for its sudden closure, said an employee at the store.
The Southern California-style clothing store follows the trend of stores discontinuing their business ventures at the mall, with Hot Topic also planning to close before February.
J.C. Penney and Macy’s closed in 2017, while Sears closed in early 2018 and Bon-Ton closed later that year.
Burlington Coat Factory, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Books-a-Million and Old Navy remain the largest stores, in that order.
Smaller stores like Regis Hair Salon, FYE and Children’s Place have also shut their metal grating, with The Kitchen Collection being the last to have closed in 2019.
Out of nearly 100 storefronts and kiosks at the Lycoming Mall, only about 60 are slated to be filled by February.
Hollister at the Wyoming Valley Mall in Wilkes-Barre Township will stay open, according to an employee at that location Friday.
