Muncy Garden club makes charitable contributions
MUNCY – Every year the Muncy Garden Club makes a charitable contribution to several local non-profit organizations in the area. According to Treasurer Thelma George, the Garden Club has been doing this since the club was organized in June of 1939.
Funds are earned through their active participation in the Lycoming County Fair and the Bloomsburg Fair Association. “This is our way of giving back to the community,” acknowledged George about the donations, “and our list has expanded over the years.”
Those organizations that benefit from their monetary offerings are:
Muncy Public Library, Muncy Historical Society, Muncy Area Fire & Ambulance, Son-Light House, The Vineyard Activity Center, UPMC Muncy Hospital, St. James Episcopal Church, Beckoning Cat Project, and the SPCA.
