White’s classes had a few specimens remaining after the seventh grade completed their study, so independent study students Spencer Ort and Gold had an opportunity to further their studies.
Junior Spencer Ort severs the stomach tissue connected to a Squalus acanthius, better known as the spiny dogfish. Ort is an independent study student taking a year-long marine ecology course, offered by teacher Erik Mitcheltree at Muncy Jr./Sr. High School.
