ELSD board accepts donation
HUGHESVILLE – A check for $12,916 from the East Lycoming Education Foundation was presented to the district at the school board meeting Tuesday, March 10.
In presenting the check, Geneva Peck, president of the foundation, told the board that the group was really “proud for the community support that we receive and from the school district cooperation partnership we receive. One of the things in our rubric which helps us decide which grants are funded, is that it really must impact a large variety of kids. It must give some kind of opportunity and exposure for the children to be able to enhance and enrich their own educational experience here in
East Lycoming School District,” she said.
In other business, the board approved the first readings of four board policies relating to vaping in district buildings. Michael D. Pawlik, district superintendent, said that the changes involved terminology in the policies.
