Float for Faith fundraiser

By Staff | Jun 23, 2020

UNITYVILLE-Monday afternoon, June 1, 14-year-old Faith Hollenbach’s life changed in an instant. Four-wheeling with a friend near her home when the all-terrain vehicle they were riding together upset and crashed on private property on Clyde Road, near Worthington Road Extension.

Suffering severe trauma, Faith was flown to the Geisinger trauma center in a medical helicopter that landed in a nearby field. The second girl was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

In and out of consciousness that left her face and skull fractured in several places, the doctors debated doing brain surgery just to save her life. Less than eight days later, Faith is recuperating at home and walking on her own, although a long road to recovery remains ahead for her.

“Float for Faith” is a July 4th fundraiser to help assist with all of the costs that have affected the family since the accident. Tickets to float from the launch at Muncy Heritage Park to the Appleman family river lot in Montgomery. The float launch time is an estimated 2 to 2 1/2 hours, launching between 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

A pig roast served at the river lot at 4 p.m. includes macaroni and cheese, baked beans, pasta salad, watermelon, broccoli salad and other items, along with beer and other refreshments. The Band One80 will be playing from 6-9 p.m.
