During the 176-year history of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows District and Brady Lodge #116,

no female had served as Noble Grand until now. Donna Weimer was recently installed as the first female Noble Grand in a program officiated by Jon Brightbill, District Deputy Grand Master. During the same meeting, Richard DeMarte was named Vice Grand.

Weimer of rural Muncy said, “It’s a great honor to serve the 38 brothers and sisters here at Brady Lodge. I’m very proud of this organization and what we do. We are a very charitable organization. We believe in friendship, love, and truth.”

The groups valediction states, “We will educate the orphan, visit the sick, bury the dead and assist the living spouse of a family, or anyone in distress.”

Additionally, the organization strives to aid its members and family, and anyone outside the group requiring help.

“We investigate requests and very seldom do we turn anyone down in giving a donation or helping hand.

If you see somebody in need, you lend a hand and help,” Weimer said.

To expand their membership, Brady Lodge #116 continues to seek new members, both women, and men, to expand.

Those interested in joining are welcome to inquire. The group meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Masonic Lodge, 28 Brummer Pond Road, Muncy, PA.
