By Shirley Confer Boatman - | Aug 10, 2022

The Young Industries, Inc, Muncy, recently celebrated 75 years in business with “… a full day of family fun and good food,” according to Spencer J. Trostle, Application Specialist and spokesperson for Young Industries. The gathering was held at Basil’s Wood-Fired Kitchen and Lounge, where Brusters Ice Cream and The Hatchett House brought trailers to enhance the celebration.

Young Industries was founded by Henry T. (Hank) Young in 1947 as an agricultural industry manufacturer. In 1948, the first employee, Ray Coffee, was hired. The business began growing so fast that in 1952, it moved into its first factory in Pennsdale. In 1960, Young Industries was established at its present location on Painter Street in Muncy, where they got their first introduction into pneumatics and grew to be the worldwide leader in bulk material handling equipment. John M. Young, a son of Henry’s, is the current president of the company. There are 65 employees, and Young Industries conducts business in 35 countries worldwide.
