New health bar opens in Muncy

By Barbara Barrett - | Oct 12, 2022

MUNCY — Welcome to Lycoming County’s only wellness bar, and it is located right here in Muncy. The Infinity Hydration & Wellness Bar held a ribbon cutting ceremony and recently held an open house with the Lycoming Chamber of Commerce.

Services for this alternative health option are conveniently located at 75 Chad Road in Muncy Township. Owner, Desiree Losell, and her staff offer custom and standard vitamin drip infusions and electro-magnetic therapy.

“The super immunity infusions are a good option for the cold and flu season,” said Losell. These infusions supply fluids rich in vitamins, minerals and electrolytes to the bloodstream to stay well hydrated. According to Losell, who is a registered nurse with a background in critical care, the vitamin drip therapy is more effective than taking the oral supplements.

“It doesn’t leak in your gut,” she replied.

The therapy has grown in popularity and last fall, Losell decided to explore more options in alternative health. In May, she left her full-time position in a hospital and did some research on vitamin therapy offering both infusions and injections. After attending a conference in Kentucky and visiting other infusion centers in Pennsylvania, Losell contracted another nurse to work with her to open her own hydration bar near her hometown of Unityville. “The location in Muncy was ideal and close to Geisinger,” she said. A soft opening took place on Sept. 19.

“The IV vitamin infusions are good for overall wellness and symptom management.” A good example is the “Myers Cocktail.” The sterile formula consists of high doses of B vitamins, Vitamin C and minerals like magnesium and calcium. Other choices include “Epic Hangover” and “Super Woman.” More descriptions and lists of beneficial vitamins can be found on their Facebook page. Some claim to help lessen signs of aging, maintain healthy body weight and supply our bodies with natural energy.

There are standard drips available for allergies, athletic performance, the brain, more energy, and basic hydration. Custom drips can be made for healing and wound regeneration, aches and pains from arthritis, gut health and thyroid support.

Vitamin injections are also available, and complimentary B12 shots were being administered during the open house by medical staff members. Sheila Gush of Muncy said this was her best shot ever. “It didn’t even hurt. I didn’t feel a thing,” she said. According to Losell, therapies with vitamins are good for inflammation, weight loss, leaky gut, allergy relief, migraines and dehydration.

The appeal of a quick boost has been made popular over the last few years, especially since the pandemic. The infusions can take about 45 to 60 minutes and are administered by professional RNs. These are general wellness therapies to support stronger immunity systems and do not treat diseases such as cancer or heart-related issues.

Another popular service offered at Infinity Hydration & Wellness Bar is pulsed electro-magnetic therapy. This helps “recharge unhealthy cells.” While relaxing in a recliner, it is delivered through a coil placed on the body that uses frequency to improve cellular absorption of oxygen and nutrients. According to Losell’s research, the process is simple. She claims this type of alternative therapy can help decrease pain, eliminate toxins, reduce stiffness, battle inflammation, lower stress, heal bruises and increase metabolism.

To learn more about these alternative health therapies, both walk-ins and appointments are accepted. Customers will complete a health profile first. Located at 75 Chad Road in Muncy, they are open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m, and Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Losell added, “Starting in November, we will be open Monday through Friday and Saturday mornings.” Phone number is 570-935-0091.
