Paw & Hand Dog Training offers 100 years of experience

Dog lovers know there’s no such thing as a bad dog. But unruly? In need of a little training–or a lot? Yes, most dogs fit in there somewhere. There’s a great fix for those issues at Paw & Hand Obedience on SR 405 between Muncy and Hughesville. Lana Kline, with the help of a few long-term competition students, owns and operates the business as training director. She began Paw & Hand in 2005, and moved to the present location at 2164 SR 405 Highway in 2015, eight years ago.
Lana shares that, “We offer a lot of different classes, at all levels. The best way to get all the information is on our website (www.pawandhand.com).” She also explains that, though the official name of her business is Paw & Hand, the “&” can’t be used for the domain name, which is why the website uses “and.” Boy, must they get so technical?
Classes offered include Small group, Private, and Virtual (Zoom) Consults and Lessons. Paw & Hand also holds workshops, seminars, and obedience matches. Maximum student numbers for small class sessions are 10-12. Twelve to fourteen classes are offered per week, ranging from STAR Puppy (Puppy Kindergarden) through all the levels of the Canine Good Citizens series (CGC, CGCA, CGCU), Tricks and Therapy Dog prep. Also offered are seven competition obedience classes each week, from Competition Puppy through the highest skill level of Utility Dog. If there are more than six students in a pet/basic level class, a second instructor is added in order to maintain a very low student to instructor ratio.
Though all information is available on their website, Lana asks that new or potential students email her at trainingdirector@pawandhand.com to initiate their sign-up process. Those wishing to stop in for hardcopies are asked to call to make arrangements, as classes are usually going on and, “we can’t always stop to chat for more than a minute or two.” The phone number is 570-980-1546. Biographies for Lana and her four other trainers are available on the website. Their individual experience years add up to over 100. Paw & Hands sounds like a wise choice for dog training.
