3 grads inducted into East Lycoming Athletic
Tom Stover, Class of 1956, Tim Baer, Class of 1994, and Rezin Davis, Class of 2009, were inducted into the East Lycoming Athletic Hall of Fame during halftime at a recent football game.
Tom Stover-Class of 56, lettered in baseball four years and basketball three years. His senior year he was captain scoring 411 points and leading the team to a 25-2 record capturing the West Branch Championship. He played Little League at Hughesville for one year and also played at Bloomsburg College and for the Picture Rocks Rockets and Hughesville Travelers.
He coached basketball three years at Bambridge High School in New York.
Tim Baer-Class of 1994, lettered four years in football garnering three All-Conference awards on both offense and defense. He also received recognition as a first team All-State lineman on offense and was named Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
Tim received three letters in wrestling qualifying for Regionals his sophomore year and was Regional champion his senior year qualifying for States. He lettered four years in track and was a District qualifier his senior year.
Tim continued his football career at Bloomsburg University lettering all four years. He was All Conference all four year and three year All American helping the Huskies to the playoffs in 1997.
Rezin Davis-Class of 2009: Davis was a four-year letter winner in basketball leading his class to 89 wins, District Championships in 2006, and 2008 and advancing to the Class AA State semifinals. He is the first All-State basketball player from Hughesville as well as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,337 points.
Rezin was First-Team Conference as a sophomore, junior, and senior. He was two-time Sun-Gazette and Price Optical “Player of the Year.” Sports writer Chris Masse named Rezin a top-10 “Player of the Decade.” He continued his basketball career at Hobart College graduating with a class that won 82 games most in 107 years of Hobart basketball.
Rezin played in three Liberty Conference championship games as well as two NCAA tournament games. He is on the career list at number 15 with most three pointers and three-point percentage and seventh most games played at 105. Rezin was named Liberty Conference “Rookie of the Week” multiple times. He worked with youth sports clinics and camps in Lycoming County and Geneva, New York, as well as organizing and officiating intramural sports at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
