Montgomery Library’s Giving Tree offers free items to keep warm

Winters have always been frigid in Montgomery, but this year the season will be warmer thanks to the Montgomery Area Public Library.
The library has established a Giving Tree to provide free hats, gloves and scarves to anyone who needs them.
“We just want to be sure that everyone has a warm hat this season. People are welcome to take what they need for free,” said library Director Amber Adams.
The goal of the library is to be able to provide these items in a variety of sizes to accommodate all ages. The Giving Tree is a coatrack inside the library across from the circulation desk. Anyone may help themselves during library hours, which are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library is closed on Sundays.
The Giving Tree is a place for people to give as well as receive. Those who would like to make donations of hats, scarves, or gloves are invited to do so. The items can be store bought, or they can be homemade. Those who enjoy knitting and crocheting can donate their crafts, knowing that they will be put to good use by keeping their fellow townsfolk warm.
The library is planning on keeping the Giving Tree available throughout the winter.
